iEat My Words
A few weeks ago after my iPhone died and left me phoneless I swore that I’d get another phone. I went to Thailand for 2 weeks and returned to obtain my 4th iPhone since its debut last summer. I then ordered the HTC Dual Touch, running Windows Mobile 6. I did this for a couple reasons.
- It seemed like every time Apple offered up a new firmware update, I would get 3 new features and 5 new bugs.
- My company didn’t support the iPhone.
- I needed to be able to accept/deny meeting requests through Exchange, something that iCal doesn’t support.
After waiting a week and a half and fiddling around with Entourage 2008, my new WM phone finally arrived. As luck would have it, the morning I got the new phone going my company announced that it planned to support the iPhone. This got a few laughs from co-workers as I went through the painful process of getting my phone synced.
Then, just two days later and many many frustrations into using WM, Apple announced that they’re implementing full Exchange functionality! Dang. I must’ve gotten 10 phone calls of co-workers and friends laughing at my utterly bottom of the barrel timing. Such is life.
This post was going to be titled iSurrender. Now…. I’m back to using the iPhone - and looking forward to Exchange and hopefully 3G and GPS this summer.
